Acoustic Tidal Artwalk

Posted on

What's up Long beach? Once a month we will be highlighting great community happenings in our own backyard.

Artwalks are a entertaining look at the local art scene. Most artworks are once a month events in artistic communities in which galleries and studios open their doors to the public. The objective is to showcase local community artists, many of which are up and coming and to get a chance to experience different types of culture.

A very unique artwalk will be taking place in Long Beach at Colorado Lagoon, the Acoustic Tidal Artwalk. This event will blend art and nature through a beautiful display featuring the tide of the lagoon, in which posts are dug into the sand with various types of art attached during low tide, then as the tide comes in the art becomes suspended over the water. The Friends of the Colorado Lagoon (FOCL) have put together a fun filled day with family activities, music, and nature walks. Many community organizations will be out to educate, including Green Long Beach, Produce Exchange, Surfrider, and Friends of the Colorado lagoon. The music portion has been put together by our friends at Tinderbox! productions and will get going @ 5pm. A number of live art displays will be developing though the day, from stage side paintings to graffiti art. The Colorado Lagoon is a true Long Beach treasure, this event is not be missed.

The Yellow 108 crew will be in attendance from 4-9pm! Come check out our booth and pose for a photo booth picture!
