DRINK THIS TONIGHT: The Expat Irish Mule

It's New Year's Eve and you should have a fine drink of choice.  Try this modified version of our summer favorite (The Irish Mule) with a winter's twist of chai spiced peach compote.  
THE EXPAT IRISH MULE
1 3/4 oz Whiskey
2 Slices Ginger Root
1 3/4 oz Ginger Beer
1 tsp Chai Peach Compote
3/4 oz Fresh Orange Juice
Sprig of Mint
Place sliced ginger and peach compote at the bottom of a glass and muddle.  
Add orange juice, whiskey, and shake.  Strain and pour over ice in a high ball glass.  
Top with ginger beer and a sprig of mint.
